To be fair to Notch, a huge chunk of Oculus fans were devastated by the unexpected Facebook acquisition, not just him. /r/Oculus was in flames the day it was announced. Notch put it this way "I did not chip in ten grand to se

I didn't like Wil Wheaton's reading of Ready Player One either. The main character came off as, I don't know, whiney I guess. I have nothing against Wil Wheaton himself. The reading just didn't do it for me. Masters of D

I don't go through my coffee quickly but I buy a 3 lb bag at Costco so I divide it into 1 lb portions, vacuum seal them, and keep them in the freezer. I've never found it tasted stale while doing this.

Look at the publication date. I'm not sure what TechCrunch was trying to accomplish doing that. It wasn't even the right day of the year for something like this. Edit: Apparently the point was to test what rebloggers would believe

You wouldn't happen to have a Killer Network chipset, would you? There has been a bug in it for a long time (since Windows 8, at least) that causes it to gobble up memory in a particularly frustrating way because the utilization doesn&

The last release added it (partially). "The core serialization functionality sufficient for 90% of users is available, but reflection and RPC APIs are not."

My brother accidentally called me with Hangouts the other day and the quality was just shockingly better. I've started using it instead of a regular call where it makes sense (i.e. the other person is on hangouts+wifi too, essentially.

This is on a different tier entirely from NVDIMMs but I've been wondering lately about whether all of the cache locality efforts are going to go to waste or even be counter productive as hardware advances. Effective cache locality requ

This matches my own experience quite closely. Good list. There is a lot of head scratching with XCode project configuration (for me at least). It's very unintuitive. clang (though XCode) is much, much faster compiling my projects than

I mapped it to Alt-Space (so I guess it'd be buttons plural) for no other reason than it seemed like a convenient combination for something I'm going to be constantly running.

Switching to clang-format reminded me (to a lesser degree though) of the moment when vim finally clicked for me. Code formatting is just something I don't do anymore. It's taken care of. I don't waste my time and thoughts try

Really I was speaking more of the website than iTunes itself. If you browse the App Store online it's all under the iTunes website (with plenty of iTunes branding thrown in). It makes no sense.

It's the same price as Spotify. Since you get the entire Google Play Music library with it it seems to be priced very competitively.

I believe it's that way because of the rights issues. They can show ads while songs are playing to pay the copyright holder of the song but if your display is off then there is no ads and thus no revenue to share.

Similarly, I can't believe the iOS App Store is still heavily under the iTunes umbrella (at least online, I don't really use iOS enough to know what the device experience is like).
