Good article - The thing that motivated me to get into fitness & health years ago was somebody telling me that you wouldn't believe how much more exciting and fun almost every activity in your life is when you are healthy & in shape

This article on HN this morning (and the comments on HN and the post itself) gives a lot of great indirect insight into this topic: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3404437

I had the same experience in college. I was more into web technologies, and everything we did in school was in Java. I did tons of projects for fun, most of which nobody ever saw but myself. Pickup a web language like ruby/python/php and st

checkout their index page, does a great job of conveying what the site does. No idea why OP linked to that page. Your designer cookies are on there: http://www.midtownrow.com/product/teacake-bake-shop-signatur...

I agree with you - just recently I spent WAY too long trying to find a good free sound sample for a notification chime and integrate it into a cross-browser audio object. Not sure if you are thinking of the implementation-end as well (aka j

1) Make sure your personalities meld - I hired people multiple times for their coding chops when we didn't necessarily 'jive' and it made working with them over a long period pretty painful, especially when brainstorming or doing stuff like

My process usually goes like this: design main page with 20 iterations, code 20% of project, redesign main page, code another 20% of project, redesign main page again and make some additional pages, etc... It's a vicious cycle - though I do

Here's a problem I have all the time as both a designer and a developer - When I am first building a project the dev is obviously important, fun to do, and essential to get right to use as the framework for the whole project. BUT the design

Love the idea, few things that stuck out to me: 1) Logo text is a link to hompeage, but the image is not - I kept trying to click the image 2) Login link doesn't quite fit the design, needs a bit more pop 3) Plan comparison page doesn't do

I have used Tipfy for a couple of projects. It is VERY lightweight and flexible, and comes with jinja2 templating built in. Basically webapp + some missing components, like Session management. It's not even as close to as robust as Django-n
