Lawyer-up. Get proper legal advice. I won't pay anything that has to go to the IRS or similar to a corporation. I might be OK for the company, but might put you in a big trouble with the goverment. Even if they act in good faith, you w

In the name of $DEITY: WHY? I would pick without thinking the car without the child tablet attached to it, too. We will be forced to switch to this kind of stupid cars by regulation, or planned obsolescence, not by choice.

We're using small language models to detect prompt injection. Not too cool, but at least we can publish some AI-related stuff on the internet without a huge bill.

I was curious about MPQ format and found this tool: https://github.com/eagleflo/mpyq Maybe you can use it to decompress some files and assess how much disk space you can save using deduplication at filesystem level. If

Some teachers in Ibiza fly daily from Majorca because rental is too expensive. Of course it works because flights between the isles are subsidized by the goverment, but stuff like this happens. Link: (in spanish) https://www.peri

Thanks for pointing out in the paper that lot of Spain and Italy is untagged !! It's interesting to see the first high-speed train line in spain (Madrid-Seville) doesn't appear. I'll see if I can fix that.

Telcos fell in love with OpenStack some years ago and went all in. Biggest problem with OpenStack was you needed a lot of hardware to learn how to use it and the talent pool was quite small.

A 500Eur/quarter budget for books or any cultural stuff (museums, etc) for me or my family. My son was already an avid reader before that; but the moment you have to quickly spend your budget with 20+ books from amazon is priceless.

Former company had an unlimited PTO policy. It was a mess. Apart for the hidden threshold other people mention, I had several direct reports in different countries. Each country had a legal vacation policy... and out 'unlimited'

Probably the key is to assume worst case scenario will always apply. After all space is an hostile enviroment you cannot control, and you need to have the device working for at least the whole mission lifetime.

The only Mac selling point for me is that, if you are a startup, and your code is inside a Mac registered with iCloud, AND you have full disk encryption, nobody will get anything from it without authorization.

Plain old google ads. My first $ came in a check and it was more expensive to cash it in my country than just frame it. Morale: you actually "earn" something the moment cash is in your pocket. Everything else is plain accounting.
