   Your argument falls flat on it's face because these patents have been licensed since day one, so how can they possibly be a response to anything? This is simply the big boys club protecting itself.

   No devices can not pass the CTS and look/feel significantly different. Vendors sign up to Google's non-fragmentation agreement which means that although you can put a slick veneer over the top (but doesn't effect functionality). You cannot

   Your device becomes unsellable without the Google lock in. Lots of companies tried it early on in the Android ecosystem. Even those who hit great price points, provided a vanilla Android experience and provided their own app stores failed m
