Firefox supports PWAs fine, it's just the desktop installing part they don't have. Offline works, push works, installing works on Android, pretty much everything works.

There's also icanhazip.com and /cdn-cgi/trace on any Cloudflare-proxied site.

Discord allows you to mark channels as NSFW and only allows users who are over 18 to view them. Not that that ever stopped anyone though lmao.

Blocking content is not the way. I ran into Encyclopedia Dramatica and similar when I was like 12, and I wish that didn't happen, but there are no technical filters that would've stopped it. In my experience, kids will find a way

Almost everyone <18 lies about their age on the internet. I have clicked through uncountably many age gates.

Handshake is awful. Because they decided to allow anyone to register a TLD there's no way to determine if a name needs to be resolved with handshake other than trying to resolve it.

Sure, just talk to me at [email protected] Jokes aside, they're awful to Tor users (Infinite captchas), and break sites on anything not running JS.

The problem is there's no alternative. LocalStorage is synchronous and has low limits, but works OK for things like preferences and auth tokens. If you are doing anything bigger like editing files then IndexedDB is your only option.

IndexedDB isn't sketchy, just annoying. It is the only semi-reliable way to store more than a few MBs of data with JS, but the API is awful and it's a pain to use without some kind of wrapper to make it bearable. (LocalForage is g

Nope, sane projects would have 1 TLD they have names under and clients opt-in to resolution. Handshake is awful because it pretends it has the right to control the root and adds TLDs in such a way that there's no way to tell if a given

There's AccessKit which would work great if we were a few years in the future and they'd finished their bindings and non-windows implementations. Other than that I don't know of anything cross-platform other than Qt which is

And CSAM is not really named appropriately named. For example, I am under 18 and have nudes of myself on my phone but there was nobody else involved and no abuse but it would still be lumped together as CSAM.

IIRC the privacy aspect relies entirely on Intel SGX (Which isn't really unprecedented for Signal) which is not ideal. Since it's centralized anyway, I would rather have seen a blind-signature based payment system. It would be mor
