Why does it need to be their problem to matter? It's an annoyance, and it can cause enough friction to stop potential customers.

No, I absolutely do not do this. For one, I don't have any network requests in my vimrc. I also keep my plugins versioned using an external tool that pulls them from a given git hash rather than request them from some other server.

I'm tired of this mentality and all of the broken things it produces. Obviously it's important that it works for the people using it. That doesn't mean we should all shovel a bunch of crap together and sell it like it's

I'd prefer that nearly all of us were off the road, but in practice we've not built a world that allows such a lifestyle.

That's just not believable given that I have a few ip ranges that I get heavily throttled on when I don't connect through a VPN.

It's always intriguing to see other people's takes. I'm in nearly the complete opposite boat: in recent years I've switched to AMD and it feels like all of my hardware problems have gone away.

It isn't outdated. I run lsp and bacon when working. You can get bacon to run clippy for you, which is also really good to use.

It doesn't have to be this way. Covid has nothing to do with it. I didn't like it then, and don't like it now.

Axum is certainly where it is at and where it has been for a while in terms of HTTP server frameworks. I'd say actix is in second place for sure, but it is wholly viable regardless. Rocket is no longer in the running as far as I'm

Windows never caused you issues? That's an incredibly bold statement. I had to switch off of Windows because it was nothing but issues.

This is mostly correct, but I think 5 minutes is understating the effort for some changes. I've had a few head scratching moments where I wasn't sure what to do to get an equivalent configuration. That being said, it is still reas

We managed to blanket it with cars and roads despite them being unaffordable in the long term. We can do it just fine.

If anything is socialist about this scenario it would be the roads. You want other people to fund the lifestyle that you prefer and are fully willing to spend their money, time, and effort.

This isn't an uncommon thought in the slightest. I hear this used as an argument frequently. Maybe some of you need a booklet with things that you can and cannot do but many of us do not and it isn't because of a religion.

That's still a completely different reality than the US. Many people in my neighborhood have more than 1 vehicle per person. That's a far cry from less than half of families having a single car.

I still think it has to be more efficient to eat out and let economies of scale take over than for each of us to cook. I even say this as an avid home cook. It's incredible that in the US it costs orders of magnitudes more to have an e

This is counter to the point that was made regarding fat. The almonds have a higher ratio of fat to other macros.

This sounds overblown to me, TBH. IME you hardly need to agonize over type structure for common day to day code. The benefits of the type system are highly advantageous to refactoring without causing breakage, so I become more nimble in get

That sounds lovely. Of course, you'll never achieve that with automobiles, so we'll be needing the trains to make it possible. No tires and significantly less chances of a collision that will kill you.

That's wishful thinking but not true. I've directly called a legitimate taxi company before and been scammed and had to pay over triple the price. This was after specifically discussing the flat cost that this particular trip had.

Communism isn't the problem here and it'd do you well to build an argument that isn't backed by that at every turn.

If there's an easily discoverable code to get free stuff, yes it should be free forever. That's not theft but rather stupidity.

Has 1password stepped up their game recently? They were significantly worse every time I've tried them. They've lost me and I'm not willing to try again anytime soon, but I do wonder.

I agree that Chernobyl is a poor reason to fear nuclear reactors. However, the argument that it was because of communism is one that has no meat and shouldn't be used to try to convince people.

I don't want to live in a society that caters to the most selfish and ignorant among us. People get sick, but we don't have to needlessly do so. If you're not worried about it that doesn't mean you should have the right
