So we should all go through the hassle of relocating closer to work each time we switch jobs just because it makes it more comfortable for office minded people? You can try to swing the argument the other way but there's no getting aro

Except if I bought an nVidia card I'd have to deal with constant headaches with the drivers. So AMD is worth significantly more from my perspective. If nVidia would play nicely and put their drivers in the kernel it might be another st

What a stretch of logic on your part. They don't offer a plan for several billion people

Then they shouldn't sell multi-screen plans. I don't particularly care about how much they spend on infrastructure-- that's not my problem. If I'm a customer I expect to be able to use what I pay for

At some point this attitude has to be given up. There's no reason traffic circles should cost millions to billions. I'd be willing to wager that this short sighted, quick and dirty meantime fix strategy has been employed too much

How do traffic tickets help the poor? They are more useful for punishing the poor significantly while being fairly inconsequential to the rich. They don't scale to your income level.

I can't speak for them but I'd argue that it is very likely much more convenient too. Plus you aren't limited to just Netflix's library.

No, it is not "fair enough". Those aren't the same situations. You need to pay a second ISP bill because that requires physical infrastructure to be laid down and maintained. Same with utilities and the toaster. Once you have

I remember them trying that when I was in school. It didn't work. For one the school's IT staff was helplessly incompetent. But also the task is far more difficult than it sounds. There are a ridiculous number of ways to circumven

I don't entirely disagree with you but I've experienced differently. In software, for example, I have seen precisely the opposite: there's been a lack of long term decision making. Instead of saving developer time overall the

I don't get any control over my schedule when driving long distance. I have to drive. A constant focus on keeping myselr alive. If I was on a train I could read, code, play games, or do whatever I felt like.

I have a gmail that gets hundreds of spam messages daily. It filters out a lot but just as many get through. It is impossible to deal with them all so if I ever need a message I have to rely on it being recent enough

Where do you get this information? As someone who has lived rural before going to a city I can assure you there is plenty of prepackaged junk to be found. Actually it wasn't until I got to a city that I had real access to high quality

Hard disagree. Rust lets me move much more quickly in many scenarios. I wouldn't want to prototype in Python for example. In my experience I'll spend too much time debugging and dealing with typing issues if i did that. Even with

This is a weak, boring, and non-genuine take. UBI is nothing like the stimulus checks. The amount given (to people at least, not the PPP loans) was miniscule and the inflation/shortages are not from the payments

It's not as if you're locked to Linux though. Most if not all of my applications would run just fine on Windows if I wanted to. It's just that when I run them myself I use a container because I'm already choosing to use

Are there any plans to branch out past Kubernetes? I'd be very interested in Odigos but I have separated myself from Kubernetes and am all in on Nomad. I've been looking at how I want to handle tracing and telemetry and this seems

How can you count on that? I haven't seen either of those nor do I know anybody that has. There's too many movies going through to be able to see them all. Maybe for people that are super into them but not everybody is.

In practice this hasn't worked for me. I got a new phone and was trying to charge it on the way home (since it was activated automatically by the store despite me not asking for that). It refused to charge in the direction I wanted. It

I don't think the final build output being statically linked has any connection to a virtualenv. I've only ever used Python's virtualenvs to avoid having to install dependencies globally. When using Cargo you don't need
