I’m surprised more has not been made of the claim that all this information is being sent unencrypted. If that’s really true, how can anyone take the claim being made by one of the largest and most privacy-touting companies seriously? If th

The privacy-invasive tracking in Windows 10 is much more obnoxious and tricky to workaround (since it is spread out and hard/impossible to disable). This tracking in macOS is at least under the guise of security whereas the Windows tra

There aren’t many (if any) realistic options. It basically boils down to Apple, Android or some extremely niche third party special phone (Fairphone etc.) which are mostly Android anyway. So either you pay Apple for premium hardware and sof

So if I develop StreamApp today that runs apps in the cloud and just streams the view over the net, and somehow polish the integration with iOS so it is good enough (sharing etc.), would this argument change?

I’m still using Sublime Text because of its superior performance compared to most other editors, and I’ve recently been super impressed by the NeoVintageous plug-in [1]. It has a very complete feature parity with Vim and even implements man

For open source, you kind of are in a weird way. Open source projects need contributions, for example in the form of bug reports, feature requests, proof reading and (in the rare case) source code. Many ousers provide these benefits to open

That both has and hasn't happened with Spotify. On the one hand, there are no 10 hour songs with some great part spread out randomly throughout that listeners have to find (obvious, and I think such a book wouldn't be successful e

Wouldn’t the alternative simply be bigger libraries grouped around common functionality or extension points? Like jQuery or similar (only an example, not sure what is hip today). I’d rather trust a fairly big library with an organized open
