It's a matter of convenience and eco-system. Here on HN you can see comments of people praising all the various static site generators (SSG), yet basically all of them require you to run some CLI, copy around files, manually fiddle wit

It sounds great until you have a few hundred pages (e.g. a blog). Nobody wants to manually update layout changes or fix navigation items across so many pages. Of course there are plenty of static site generators that will help with that. Fo

> Also do not forget that performance is easily solved by hardware: Moore's law "Just write slow algorithms, hardware will eventually get faster" doesn't really work when talking about performance implications now .

I'm absolutely clueless about crypto, isn't there also a trade-off between being mathematically superior and well optimized in software/hardware implementation?

Not sure when you tried last, but it's gotten a lot better over the years. If you need something from the latest master, you'll be able to find it.

Is this sentiment the reason why a lot of "engineers" will provide terrible quality in code / tests (lack thereof) / documentation / etc.? If all that matters that someone at the top sees it and is happy about it at

The quotes around "config as code" are necessary unfortunately, because TeamCity only allows minimal config changes. The UI will always show the configuration from the main branch and if you remove or add steps it might not work.

Every few weeks I'll get a DM on Discord where they try to sell me some art. Of course they never have any public portfolio and don't identify themselves further. Usually I ask them directly "what's the scam this time&qu

Haven't used them, but for open source, SignPath might be interesting, they do require transparent builds, but do support GitHub Actions: https://about.signpath.io/product/open-source Some other signing that works

I disagree that UI/UX as interface design is where we lost the plot. After all UI mostly refers to the looks and UX to the interaction, both have always existed and on their own are certainly not bad. For me one of the biggest issue is

I can see something like Shortcuts/Zappier or some visual things to work quite well for non-programmers. After all, we've had lots of businesses using rule engines and visual editors to "program" their business logic for

Oh, I haven't heard of `just` before. Looks interesting, thank you! I might give mkdoxy another try, but I much prefer a solution that seamlessly integrates the doxygen docs like I'd done manually now [1]. Trying my luck here, but

Maybe I have to give mkdoxy another try. When you say "just docs", what do you mean exactly? The thing is, if I have say 20 different versions I want to generate docs for, I don't exactly want to run this every time I run `mk

Any reason to not upstream the refactorings? The default theme doesn't look that great on mobile. At least one can change the side menu size. The challenges I'm facing with doxygen is to create a seamless integration with a MkDocs
