I was on a team that did the same, a long time ago. I’d be interested in a follow up if they ever ask for an update. Or can you push updates to them? I’m also curious how you structured the changes. Does this work exist on a separate branch

I first saw the suggestion at https://www.joelonsoftware.com/2012/07/09/software-inventory... He makes a reasonable case that not keeping the bug queue manageable leads to increased cost. I've definite

Storing password + TOTP together does leave you vulnerable if your vault is stolen/broken into, but I've gone all-in on storing them in 1Password because that's a trade off I'm willing to make.

I'm pretty disappointed that the same event where Apple touted that they were keeping support for the iPhone 5S was the one they dropped support for pre-2012 Macs. Especially because my maxed out 2011 Mini apparently has similar geek

I really enjoyed the Lava Layer antipattern for incremental refactors that never complete. Having learned to recognize it, I think I'm more aware of the cost/benefit of introducing a new pattern, even if it's better in some w

It's old (circa 2006) and really low level, but I loved reading through Mac OS X Internals ( http://www.osxbook.com ) If it were updated, or a vol2 was released with all the new stuff, I would immediately buy it. It's no

I recently moved, and we paid for Comcast installation (instead of self-install) because at our utility connection there was just a bundle of cables with the ends cut off. I didn’t understand why anyone would have cut them. Now I’m upset th

Our iOS app with Java backend was using long for database IDs on both ends. I was going through the ILP32->LP64 conversion process and when I realized we had a pretty serious discrepancy. I think it's a really easy mistake for the f

Something Apple highlighted a couple times, and I think is relevant, is that since CoreML runs on the device, it works offline. More importantly, that's also what enables real time video analysis. It may not be decisive, but it's

Agree with siblings about two finger drag to move cursor around. Additionally, I really enjoy the apple keyboard case for my iPad Pro. Real arrow keys, along with option, command, and shift modifiers are how I select text on the Mac, and
