Yumi uses GRUB directly for the boot, so I believe it's limited to Linux only (AFAIK, Grub can't direct boot an iso)

The time was right for the Personal Computer revolution in 1977. In 1997, it was the Internet revolution. In 2007, it was the Social revolution. There's always opportunity, you just need to find what is now worldchanging, which would be dif

At least for the CR-48's, you could flip the dev switch and wipe them, or install Ubuntu. I had to use the dev-switch to get a terminal.. Web online just doesn't cut it when you need to SSH to your servers ;)

I understand what you're saying, but I promise that the creation of another open source license isn't the solution. It WILL Strictly limit usage of your code, to the point that open sourcing it won't make much of a difference. You won't get

What the world needs now is NOT another open source license. I'd rather never touch another line of software again that had a custom license. All that does it make it difficult to interoperate with other packages, and Make it difficult to b

The combination photos are fun, how did you generate those? Why would I use this rather than going to my local supermarket, and just building my own there?

The Nook has saved BN from the same fate. I believe I read that something like 40% of revenue is currently nook-based.

I'm actually really glad he doesn't. There's a lot of features that unix systems have that Windows does entirely differently, or not that all. To accommodate that, he'd need to either write high-level interfaces on top of things and/or use

I believe the intended reading is that he does "change" them, by adjusting the font, etc, as mentioned just earlier. His colleague was suggesting that he write entirely new assignments each year. The author misunderstood what his colleague

Right. Why would you focus on the fact that it's online? That's almost an irrelevant detail to "What do you do?" You run a marketing company. Just say that.

The date on this post is July 15th, and the email says they're shutting down on the 19th. Giving customers 4 days notice is less than ideal.

I've read both, and I greatly preferred "In the Plex". It seemed like a book that really had a thoughtful (if sympathetic) view into Google's inner workings. Levy's book drew from numerous interviews, and wove them together into a narrative

What's the algorithm? You list the factors you use to decide, but I'm confused as to how those combine. How much do you weight Modem Whistling Skills versus Blog Posts versus years of experience?

This seems really fun. I'd love to be able to use this almost like a version of SQLlite, but a JSON interface. I could see this in Android/iPhone, as well as Desktop apps.

This is seriously cool stuff! I'd love to see this ported to work more broadly; Perhaps anime might be a good usage; There's a lot of material out there with subtitles due to the language barrier.. Wow. This is just really nice.

That makes a lot of sense. I wasn't trying to be disparing. It's a great idea, and very helpful, I just felt like it could go in a slightly different direction for this specific use-case (Public Keys)

Static1.robohash.com goes through the CDN.. If you load a PNG through there, it's cached. I wouldn't do the whole site through there, though, or you'll get the CDN's IP!
