Humans aren't using only fixed vision for driving. This is such a tiresome thing to see repeated in every discussion about self driving. You're listening to the road and car sounds around you. You're feeling vibration on the

Yeah, imagine having, say, two of these LIDAR sensors, each pointed towards the car's blind spots. Comma already does well with the car's built-in radar + vision on straight freeway runs, but can't reliably change lanes on it

Because Match buys them out. PoF, Tinder, Hinge started independent, and were bought by Match once they showed promise.

As much as I love simple deterministic things, this is a classic example of where NLP is better than hardcoding a list of keywords. Trying to guess every set of quantity keywords with various spelling, punctuation and how they interact (&qu

This claim has so many assumptions mixed in it's utterly useless

That's maybe a few dollars to tens of dollars in electricity per month depending on where in the US you live

You can't do the same in the US. They won't do an eye exam for you. That's the whole problem - glasses in the US are a medical device gated by a doctor, which is absurd.

Going to Japan felt like living in the future. I could walk into any glasses store, and for $50 or less buy a pair of frames and lenses. If I didn't know my prescription, included in the price was an automated eye exam machine which&#x

The prof could have just said "Use GCC <version>" then, which would run on even more systems than TCC. Professor probably just really liked TCC.

Convenient how you absolve Amazon of responsibility. They were forced to do it!

by dymk 8mo ago
That’s certainly not the case for most situations where a constraint solver is useful

7 years at Amazon without being laid off (promoted, in fact) and you blame it on 2 months of what you assume is poor performance

Breaks down for complex parts with lots of repeated operations, suffers from floating point rounding errors. No constraint solver.

Rhino has no free tier. I’d love to play with it, and it’s where AutoDesk made the right call. It’s why Fusion 360 has such a strong ecosystem for hobbyists / prosumers.

Are ISO standard parts not used where you live? McMaster is in the US but the much of the parts and CAD are standard

Yeah but have you tried it? You can throw as many keywords as you want into Claude but it does get things wrong in sometimes subtle ways. I’ve tried it, I know.
