I work at an "enterprise" company and I'm not expected to install 20 different apps. Duo is just one example, but it supports both push based 2FA and onetime tokens, and those two modalities cover every vendor integration and

The problem isn't the unions. If you've interacted with Yellow you'd know that. It's that the company is disorganized and management is nowhere to be found. Look at UPS - union shop, going strong. Management is organized

The company was an unmitigated shitshow for a long time, and didn't perform its basic duties as a shipper. I've had LTL shipments lost for weeks at a time with nothing but a shrug and an "It'll (maybe) get there when i

Put it this way: What store have you gone to (in the US) that shows you the price of the item with taxes included? Including taxes isn't the norm nor expected. Nor is including fees for the travel industry, with the notable exception o

What other hotel booking site shows you the price with all fees included? As far as I can tell, Airbnb is the only one that even gives you the option.

Go read the page you just linked, but more closely. Induced demand is relevant to adding more car lanes, not dedicated bus lanes and other off-grade transit. Civilized countries already solved this problem.

Take a picture of car and the license plate, and send them a citation in the mail. We already have traffic cameras doing the same thing.

In most states (all?) it's illegal to have a tinted front window, yet people still have them, because it's not enforced. IMO cops should be citing people left and right for tinted windows and tinted license plate covers. You'

The generics are pretty cheap, but I guess it's a relative matter. I got a PA-20 for $35 on Amazon and it works with all the Molex micro-fit I've thrown at it. Each crimp takes much longer than if I had the $500 purpose-built tool

HN (generally) doesn't like unions because we're highly paid software engineers who think we're better at negotiation one-on-one than in a group.

I agree that it's not a strong win. But from this: > All cars get two fans and air induction vents in the cargo compartments. It sounds like all existing vehicles at least get a retrofit to have fans / air in the back?

Sorry, where's the regressive tax policy? If this is being funded by a graduated income tax (like what most states have, or federal income tax), then it's being funded by a progressive tax.
