Just landed in Dublin yesterday, coming from Oktoberfest in Munich. A business trip with the best timing... ever. By the way, Guinness available here is produced differently, and is much, much, much better in every way.

It's great to see this post on Hacker News by the way. I think the OpenBSD project encompasses a lot of the values that a majority of the users on this site would agree with.

Quite true, and if your serious about security, you'll be sure to follow any packages you're using. The benefit of OpenBSD is that it ships "Secure by Default", unlike a ton of other distro's: "To ensure that novice users of OpenBSD do not

My play machine runs OpenBSD. I can't say enough good things about it. If you want a (very) secure machine which runs on a slew of different platforms, has an awesome package tree, and a solid developer base of pragmatic and opinionated u

Stay in school for Senior Year... AND SLEEP WITH AS MANY WOMAN AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. Sorry, had to say that. My real answer however, is to skip Senior Year. You have the option that a lot of students don't. High School has it's perks, but

I'd say 98% of the hip hop that's played on the radio and on tv can "not" be classified as hip hop. Here is a fantastic video about the Auto-Tune industry, presented by one of the pioneers of real hip hop, KRS-ONE: http://www.youtube.com

Do it. You just graduated college. This will be an educational breather, and, it could end up influencing your future career. It's going to be tight on $1.5k, but where there is a will, there is a way :)

Double Meh. Traveling is definitely overrated. Nonconformity != Traveling. The perks of travelling just to "see" new places is novel, but gets old fast. If you've travelled a lot, you get to see the hoards of backpackers and tourists th

My friend who's a 24 year old (extremely cute) female, who eats your Standard American Diet (but on the healthy side), took a 40 day juice fast about a year ago. After about day 30, she passed a huge ball of worms in her stool. Let me emph

I'm hoping somewhere in the Jenga rule book that it negates the use of anything "but" the complete use of fingers to move the blocks. Otherwise, everyone is going to show up at the World Jenga Championships with these guns, and the entire

There are tons of sites like this that aggregate search engines in frames, so is definitely nothing new. He just happened to pick the two popular search engines of the time. Yeah, tabs for the win.

I think curriculum's are too segregated. Let's get brains from mathematical sciences, engineering, biochemistry and biology (etc) together, and have them come up with their own interesting project.

Dustin... awesome. Has anybody else done something like this? This could be like a "Supersize" movie, but about the perils of travel. Film it! And @#$%... make sure to stretch regularly.

Articulated perfectly! Any time I'm working on a Rails project, and run into odd behaviours, the first thing I'll do is check to see if I'm actually using a Ruby or a Rails method. Most often than not, I'm expecting a "Ruby" way of doing
