The downloadable version is nowhere near ready for production. It's performance is also excruciatingly slow.

Spot on. We use ytt[0], "a slightly modified version of the Starlark programming language which is a dialect of Python". Burying logic somewhere in a yaml template is one thing I dislike with passion. [0] https://tanzu.

There's an opensource IntelliJ plugin from https://github.com/continuedev/continue that allows you to do this. It supports a couple different providers and models, e.g. LocalAI with Code Llama.

I've been using FireShot to capture whole pages and save as PDF, quite useful for tutorials. It works by manually scrolling the page, capturing each part and then stitching it together. Can also save as an image. https://add

Check out the OpenAPI spec https://swagger.io/specification/ . One advantage is that you can use the spec to generate both client and server-side code, see https://deliveroo.engineering/2022/06/

Yes, I think that env vars are superior to a file or CLI args. One advantage is that you can pass secrets without persisting in a file or making them visible to other processes through CLI args.

In addition to CLI params and JSON conf it would be handy to support env var configuration. Makes running inside a container much easier.

Also not a big fan, but I hate it for a very specific reason: echo 12345678901234567890|jq 12345678901234567000

A minor thing, but the article says that the Terraform AWS provider uses AWS CLI to manage resources. That's not the case, it uses aws-go-sdk to directly talk to the AWS APIs.

Pyenv is a bit lower-level and works well with requirements.txt. Pipenv can use pyenv to install Python venvs and brings its own Pipenv and lock files.

I had issues with an external display which were solved by using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable (supports 4K@60Hz). USB-C to HDMI in particular didn't work well.
