In my experience, a lot of doctors have already drank too much of the Kool-Aid. Of all my family physicians, only one was willing to have candid conversations about drugs. The rest would just shut down the conversation immediately and say

I would say talented Technical Writers are definitely in demand. I've seen both full time and contractor positions. I concur with itamarst, if you have portfolio pieces already just go for it.

Considering there's no one technical on the other end to set stuff up, your best bet might just be to mail him a simple stereo and weekly mixed CDs.

Reminds me of The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov. The third part of the book takes place on the moon where there is a divergent human species / society. Great book, and there are some really interesting thoughts on how two divergent

It depends. My current laptop MBP Retina will probably last a long time. If USB-C support is good and the new function row turns out well, then I will probably buy it. If not, I'll probably go for something else (maybe just another

I really wish that they would use HTML tables in their writeups. Being able to Cmd+F for models / makes would be much more convenient than visually scanning images.

It seems pretty low for Portland. Try applying to jobs you're interested in. Get an idea of what you're worth. If you end up really liking a place you interview, take the job. If you decide to stay at your current place, at le

You might want to consider a name that isn't owned by a tech giant: https://www.meraki.com/ Also, I recommend just using email for logins. They can change their username whenever, but the email stays the same.

If you have no savings now, a 25% raise isn't going to help you. You'll just figure out new ways to spend the money. You need to make a budget and get your expenses under control.

I think alot of it depends on how the deal is structured. If the software house doesn't have ownership in the final product, then the incentives just aren't going to line up and the product will suffer.
