If your server goes down it doesn't matter if it's because of a faulty host or because of a dc fire. You need redundancy either way. People affected by this fire had likely all assets in one data center, which I also wouldn't

Fuel was too low for regulation, but from all I read there was never a realistic risk of an accident due to low fuel. The consequence rather was that these flights then had to be prioritized at the destination airport, affecting schedules a

But there are a lot of people in an office. The data center could be evacuated immediately and was located in a harbor with no inhabited buildings anywhere close to it. The only damage they did was to their own property.

Exactly, I don't get these complains. It's literally for people who want to work at Google. If you don't want to use Google products you're clearly not the target audience.

They provide a full list of questions. I had a look through them and actually found them quite good to prepare for an interview at any company. No need to go through the interactive part to see these questions.

Or, and I find that more likely, they just didn't see the point to spend resources supporting other browsers if they don't have to. In the end, if you want to work at Google, they can probably expect you to use their products.

But you can just drag it across two screens and divide it up along the border? From my experience that works fine as long as your screens have the same resolution.

VSCode with remote ssh is the main reason I'm not on Linux anymore. I always liked Windows more for everyday use (I know that's a rather unpopular opinion here) but needed Linux for development work. With remote SSH it feels like

I guess it always depends on how much you value the IP of your code. But for many projects, I find Copilot too valuable to avoid it because of telemetry/privacy reasons. And I guess if you work on anything open source, leakage of sourc

They do work with Code-Server (VSCode in Browser) though, which also works on top of the open source parts of VSCode if I'm correct? I wonder how that worked. Code-Server works surprisingly well anyways, but with VSCode built on Electr

I believe the dealership network exists for historical reasons and car companies can't get rid of them for their existing models. Now's the time to change that using EVs as a reason. But it's something many car manufacturers

To be fair, with most stuff running as VMs, a confluence server will usually not run anything else. So root doesn't really change much here I guess.

Maybe just a WAF rule like Cloudflare rolled out. But then they should've stated that since there is a chance cloud instances were breached.

And the likes of Cloudflare access or VPN only access via Tailscale make it so easy to keep it protected. I'm always a bit shocked when I come across publicl ogins for Jira or Confluence instances of large corps.

NextDNS allows automatically whitelisting affiliate links. That's not as easy in Pihole, making it annoying to use at times. But otherwise I concur, I've run pihole for years without any manual intervention needed.

Ticket checks are incredibly rare in most cities already, Germans tend to buy tickets because it's illegal not to, not because it's more economical given the fine you pay without one. And selling tickets will be an extremely minor

It's not different in Germany outside of theses three months. A day ticket in most cities cost 5-10€. That's why this ticket will be so appealing, 2-4 trips are enough to make it worth for the whole month.
