The passkey terminology is describing a "primary factor" user experience, which requires certain WebAuthn features to be implemented. A U2F-only key does not have storage so it cannot implement discoverability on its own. So it wo

A webauthn library will likely support things which you don't need for simply accepting passkeys, such as attestations and extension support. A minimal implementation can be dramatically simpler; the problem comes in conveying to an ap

Android and iOS 17 have native API to supply passkeys via system API, which will surface in browsers as well as native apps. A pure web extension password/passkey manager currently has to go the injection route, and will not surface cr

You have a (constantly expanding) choice in what software or hardware your passkeys are provided by, and can decide based on your own risk/convenience trade-offs.

The devil's in the implementation details though. The operating system may provide both fully-preemptive threads on which to schedule user space cooperative threads (scheduling on system call). At that point green threads (e.g. threadi

I always wonder about whether such comparisons take into account the 50% increase in global population between 1990 and 2019. This BMJ charts do not appear to do so.

My guess is that it is a difference in volume. While a microwave is very efficient at exciting water in food, the range top is putting out a _lot_ of heat based on a 220V (in US) electric source or natural gas source.

There are some sold for privacy which do not have the data pins. However, I believe this prevents negotiation for power delivery. Even if not, you need the CEC pins for the cable to function and that is a data channel as well (there are fir
