I mean they just disabled advanced data protection which allowed normal law enforcement requests to access the data since they are not e2e encrypted if you don't use advanced data protection. I really don't think they needed to im

I really like this. I am using infisical but it does not handle the app side without vendor locking to their service. I love the additional secretspec_derive bit for the Rust example.

Another thing is GUI integration is not as good as WSL. You can't make Windows windows as Linux windows. You can do that easily with WSL.

Still can't run everything. Especially apps or games that does vm detection.

Except Wine cant cover all of Windows (partly due to fault of Windows). I can't run UWP apps for example. Windows is not a good operating system but if you need it. WSL creates way more intuitive working environment for you. So even if

The point of the "memory safe" sudo was not only that though. They removed a lot of nice really rarely used features to make the attack surface smaller.

I dont think this is really true in practice. Most of the time there is context and 3rd party sources components get from. It is good idea to have your actual view use this paradigm though.

And someone can correct me if I am wrong but really similar migrations are possible with Postgres I remember reading an article about some company doing a similar migration strategy using postgres publications. We just need better tooling.

Postgres definitely needs github like tooling that does always online migrations. iirc githhub's migration tool was open source right? Edit: yes it was https://github.com/github/gh-ost

Neon seems to be doing something similar (their hosted solution was not that great last time I checked) most of their stack is open source.

In my experience it is the exact reverse. You spend weeks configuring or tuning your orm calls when you ccould just spend a few hours optimizing your sql. There is a reason most orms has a raw SQL escape hatch. The sweet spot is typesafe sq

I don't think so. Corporate communication is bound by different laws and you have way higher burden of evidence in case of legal requests. I don't think this creates a precedent for personal communications.

The problem is AFAIK this act is a lot different and Apple or any party that gets this order is completely forbidden to talk about it. So these kind of requests would not show up in this transparency requests. It is IMHO fair to assume Appl

You can pin versions with the rust-toolchain.toml file you need to be using Rustup afaik. Nightly is just the daily builds.

Illumos is not Oxide. Oxide is just using a in house distribution of illumos for their needs. Illumos created is created 14 years ago by Solaris developers to swap the closed source bits by open source implementations.
