Indeed. Might even be an electric bike (although personally I enjoy riding my fast human-powered road bike on a daily basis). While the myth that old (small) gasoline cars may emit less co2 car than a reasonably efficient EV does annoy me,

Hey! I _think_ I tried Mochi before discovering Anki has a web version too. But Mochi looks really good! Do you (plan to) support MathJax in cards? EDIT: Never mind, was able to get behind a computer and yes, I did use Mochi before. And it

It's worrying if these kind of articles are really reaching the top of Hacker News nowadays... It started out relatively promising and I hoped the author would describe some issues with funding in science, but it all went downhill real

Honestly flabbergasted by the amount of ignorance in this thread, it was definitely not what I expected from the Hacker News crowd. - Cattle does not eat soy byproducts and soy production is definitely not driven by human consumption. Not b

> Cattle are fed the byproducts of soy production like soy meal that humans refuse to eat. By dollar value, almost all of the soy produced goes to human consumption. This is provably false, see [1]. The page is in Dutch, but surely there

Same thing in The Netherlands. Organic matter (brown or green bin) is free, but the bin that ends up on a landfill costs a few € to empty. I like it. Also we have separate collections for glass, paper, plastic etc. So if you put in some eff

I have a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 with a Ryzen 4800U and love it. Running Linux on it, everything pretty much worked right out of the box.

I once came back to a Laravel project after just one year of working on other projects and had to go through several upgrade guides just to stay up to date. Most changes were quite trivial (yet annoying to make), like namespace changes and

Not as much as the other two by a long shot, but a tiny bit, yes. I've hidden the purchase flow on the website a while ago so I can retire the paid version sometime soon.

I've been selling a couple of WordPress plugins since 2013, mostly piggy-backing on other popular services that were experiencing crazy growth and taking care of their WordPress integration for them (unofficially, some already had one

I like the goal and the product seems good apart from some subjective styling nitpicks, but your blog is terrible. Why can’t I click on any of the titles or/and a “read more” link? After figuring out how to get to a single post, I noti

It's why I'm somewhat against WASM, even though it's very cool from a technical standpoint. It makes the web even more of an operating system, where I'd like it to be less.

If you're using WordPress, there is https://wordpress.org/plugins/koko-analytics/ . Open-source, self hosted, no external services & very performant.

The open-source (self-hosted) version of Fathom is dead. The only commits they have been pushing to it in the last 12 months have been upsells for their closed-source & centralized paid offering.

Your suggestions seem a little over the place. I suggest focusing on a single language instead. Personally I would advise you to learn Rust and learn it well. Forget wasting your time on ”hottest tech”, Rust is here to stay and will be used
