@antirez is all of the above to an amazing extent, however redis is one of the hardest projects to contribute code to from my own experience. The community is awesome and very friendly and helpful though, and I reckon most of my contributio

The prediction was mostly done on the client itself, but other stuff required servers: app recommendations, cards content, folder classification.

Tel Aviv has become one as well. Result: it's super expensive and all the young people have to leave it or live in places only slightly better than these shared bunks.

The problem is that the browser sends it in a different format (it's the HTML5 date-time input), 3399 simplified or something like that. So I ended up doing something like: > formats := []string{ string(time.RFC3339), "2006-01-

I can find it later, but I just had this issue this week with timestamps sent from a browser, supposedly in RFC3339, but Go's RFC3339 format was not compliant with it. So naturally I made my own format template. Alas, the milliseconds

True, and for most cases the parsing is great too, but once you get off the beaten path of standard time formats, parsing times can be annoying.

I really don't like the font personally, but you know, can't argue with taste. I'm curious though - you're using Geany for working with Go? What level of support does it have?

I don't think I disagree with that, I'm just saying that being with my children is not always fun or interesting. Louis CK has some excellent bits about this stuff.

From what I can gather this font is almost identical to Ubuntu Mono.

You can get used to any font, and it is after all a matter of taste. I have preference but it's totally personal and might just be a habit. Whatever works, you know.

There should be a balance I suppose. I'm sorry but playing pretend-grocery-store with my 3yo girl can't compete with the challenge and satisfaction of cracking a really hard algorithm or a similar problem. But having a family in g

The ones who are in much more risk are those "selling shovels in a gold rush" - i.e. companies with a revenue stream based on services and products to other start-up companies.

Yeah, of course, there's a real valuation bubble going on. I don't think we'll see twitter going anywhere, too - it's a good product after all. But maybe returning to its real size in terms of worth, number of employees

One major difference is that large parts of the internet are economically viable, and not just driven by money pumped in by VCs and IPOs. Back in 2000, there was little real consumer money going into the web's money cycle. Google didn&

Thanks! We figure, if we write infrastructure stuff that is not part of our core IP, we might as well open it so it won't rot, or at least rot much slower - and you might even get improvements to what you do. Even if it's not a bi

HLL can only estimate cardinality, it can't test for the existence of a key. The idea is the same - sacrifice some precision and gain a huge memory saving. But they don't share anything beyond that in terms of the math.
