Yes, exactly. But the cool thing is that it's improved me when I'm writing in other languages. The first big project I did after writing tons of Go was in C, and man was it a delight to write Go-style C. True, it wasn't nearl

Perhaps the first half of my first sentence made you so furious you didn't notice the second half :) Anyway, I really love Go, but I haven't written any in a long long time, which is a bit ironic since the cutoff point was when I

Go is the worst programming language out there, aside from any other language I've tried so far. Seriously though, besides being just a good solid balance between speed, ease, safety, etc without anything really exciting - there are a

Interesting idea, will try this approach on my son. I remember when I was a kid, I took an after school programming course and the teacher had a very cool approach to start us with: All attendees were "computer nerd kids" with som

I had just deleted my AirBnB account a while ago and swore not to ever use it again. Didn't get scammed, just had a bad experience, but it's just not worth the stress. You're stressed about getting scammed, stressed about the

I'll try to raise the crazy a bit. Relocating to SV soon so I'll have plenty of opportunities. Umm, I mean, I'm super excited and stoked to finally be where all the magic happens!

As a non American, I sometimes just enjoy deliberately messing a bit with Americans when they utter these expressions, by doing it over the top. Someone meeting me for some boring work related thingie: "Hi! How are you doing?" Me:

Of course not, I'm just saying it _is_ part of the current culture to assign hierarchy to levels, probably more so with younger/more junior people. Hierarchy tends to look flat looking down.

I'd also like to see benchmarks where z is pre-allocated to the right size and instead of append you're just doing z[i] = x[i] + y[i]

Sort of - I became active in the Redis community when it was just starting to pick up. Mostly helping out users and giving local talks, but occasionally contributing some code as well. Over the years this led to several job offers, and whil

Ok, so let's say you arrange your folders to acommodate for that. you have /files/$user/$program/$file. That's basically what a primary key in a database looks like. If you want a secondary index, what database

IIUC the benchmark did not use pipelines and the numbers show that. Redis itself can outperform this by a factor of 10 with pipelining, and I'm betting the difference from the module won't be that big given such a setup (which is
