old school tech: greenfield waterfall Java projects, very little dev-ops, big-iron databases (Oracle, SQLServer and IBM). This is all anecdotal evidence from having lived in the city for not even a full year, so not saying I know something.

After having spent almost a year here I have to say that it's striking to me how much old-school tech I meet here. Ppl just starting to dip into cloud, Go/Rust hardly heard of and Rails+jQuery still perceived as the "new"

Are there any legitimate reasons for a 28-300% variance in price? Why are discounts secret? I can totally see why the seller would want that, but these are public health care countries studied and I don't see why public spending is all

It would be awesome to have this kind of analysis made dynamically, by some service. It's always a major hassle figuring out which airline site is more convenient to buy from. Saas idea maybe? :)

I agree with you. I get the impression that data aggregation&analysis is so deeply ingrained in Google company culture that it's entirely possible the responsible people truly believes nothing went wrong here.

While I applaud the effort to protect users privacy I don't think these measures are very effective. It seems more like a way for governments to show who's in power and doing it in such an uninformed way is a little silly imo. Coo

If chat is important to you I'd definitely take a look at Slack in combination with Google Docs. Slack is a very good chat client, but it's the ease of extending and integrating it to your systems that is the real killer feature (

Did you manage to connect the regular Slack client to this? Is it enough to redirect the traffic to "myorg.slack.com" wherever your daemon is running? That would be kinda neat.
