The end of the article explains "going to the south for cheaper labor". Definitely agree. My only concern about maintaining pay across the world -- does it contribute to inflation in those areas? Would this be bad for the areas? O

Well, at this point, we should assume that large corporations pay $0 in federal taxes, and therefore, it's only news when the headline reads something like "Meta to pay $1 billion in federal taxes".

Thanks for the response. I assumed it wasn't a large enough amount to count peanuts necessarily. I'm looking at loan around $20k over 3 years compared to paying cash. The reason I asked is because we do have an emergency fund but

If rates are going to rise, is it better to hold cash and use loans for purchases such as land, or is it better to pay cash up front now and invest the cash in money market funds or other financial instruments?

If you do need help, I hope you get it. I have been having success with narrative conversational therapy. At my best, especially on projects I care about, I’m a high performer. At my worst, I’m slow and mediocre. In the end, most of us are

Love seeing a CTO chime in explaining the nuance of this discussion while individual contributors act appalled. Personally, and this is indicative of my contributions, I believe we work in waves, having periods of high and low productivity.

Truly appreciate your ability to articulate these moral grey areas. I’ll definitely be referring back to your comments when I need to convey my similar thoughts.

We've been looking for a new TV; won't be considering Vizio anymore. Then again, their data collection practices are expansive enough that we probably would have gone elsewhere, anyways.

I'll be absolutely subjective here. Python seems fine, except that I can't get comfortable in a language that uses whitespace as part of its syntax. I know the typical arguments of "linter, etc" but I believe my ruby and

Good point. Around here there's ecosystem of tools, the mower, leaf blower, hedger, trimmer, weed-eater, etc. Investing in all of those tools using gasoline just seems antiquated. But you're probably right, the individual footprin

This might seem extremely basic, and even silly, but have you tried specifically telling your boss that, 'hey, threats don't motivate me. in fact, they hinder my productivity. also, after hours calls are inappropriate.'? Why

Eh, what you're saying is accurate but you'll get argued with and downvoted because human capital is so engrained in this economy that these people don't even realize that's what they are. They're strictly divided b

Ehh I didn’t say that did I? The choice I refer to is, get vaccinated or do not. This sub outsmarts itself so often and it shows. Medical professionals, scientists, researchers, etc are more qualified than I. There’s nothing blind about it.
