And frustratingly, you can't background-open AMP links from Google News. Instead, AMP articles open wuth their own (annoying) navigation, where swiping goes a completely different article.

Thanks! And correct - should have added "in the US" in te title. Just got back from a trip, and am always reminded how archaic USA banking feels compared to most other countries' systems. With the recent industry switch to ch

Correct. I'm from US (and should have put that in the title). Just got back from the UK, where the chip process is so fast (even including PIN entry).

Maybe I should have said lowER impact (compared to most sports, soccer, etc). I regularly play with some older folks - and they don't move around so much... they make ME do the moving!

I'll say one thing - my dad is 70, doubtful he's ever had a gym routine. But, as he's gained wait, he's had interest in better diet, losing weight. He told me he'd consider exercise. So I took him to his nearby gym,

I agree with this. The "trick" for me was squash. Was never a "sports person" but always thought ping-pong was fun. Approached squash like it was a fun, goofy ping-pong hobby (as its basically fun with no skill whatsoeve

I have mentioned this in previous threads, but here goes: See if there are squash courts in your area. If so, take lessons (commit to 5-10 lessons), and ask the instructor to introduce you to other novice players. The game is exhilerating,

Agreed - if you have the space, get a Concept2 rowing machine. Do 2km on that every day (<15min), you have covered a lot of bases. I'd also say, get a door-frame pull up bar and a set of adjustable dumb bells, and you can do an extr

I bought Occulus just for this game. I love Elite. Was tons of fun with Occulus. Unfortunately, the physical pressure of the Occulus hurt - caused too much pressure on my face, causing discomfort after about 20min. Additionally, resolution

If you enjoyed that - take the time and get the book compilation of all BH's annual letters to shareholders - starting 1960s to present. Some of the most valuable reading I have done in years - strongly recommend.

I took the course - unfortunately, and to be honest, it didn't have the approachability and "fun" of Zed's books. To me - it felt very dry, academic, and quickly became a chore to complete rather than a joy. I need the v

Related: I love this book's teaching style, and found it very much resonated with me - starting from zero, step by step, iteratively learning and building on previous lessons. Can anyone suggest something similar for learning Scala?

A bit off-topic, but a call-out to those tech consultants who often work remotely (using VOIP to interface with POTS): At the previous tech company I worked at, we used Avaya VOIP phones (5000+ employees). The phones could be used at home (

A couple thoughts here: - squash: more control over ball placement. Since the ball is fairly "dead", there is more time to think, and there are so many potential "moves" on where to place the ball. I found with rball, a
