I'm not convinced that people who want to work from home are magically motivated differently by work and to do work than others... They're human, better and worse, like everyone else.

Yeah it is not a remote good / office bad thing. I work remote when and how I want, it's great. But there's days and even weeks where "I just want to go in" and that's helpful with meetings, work, socialization

It feels like there's some legit bad practices that some folks have been hit with and legit complaints. But yes online there's a populist panic about it that seems disconnected and completely driving itself without basis in realit

How many phones have a standard audio jack now? I figured that had largely vanished for a while now.

For us the uptime issues have been annoying but not consequential enough to justify the work / risk of moving. I suspect even poor uptime for many services is a cosmetic problem for most users.

I wish I could get a confidence number. Like 98%. Or when it comes back with 50% I know, let's talk about this a bit more maybe I add more context and such. Granted I don't think LLM word math does anything but mostly just output

I’ve been laid off via remote meeting. The folks doing it were unhelpful (couldn’t answer typical questions) / they were some third party company hired to fire people. I didn’t like it… but not much would have made it “better”. The

I’ve found a disturbing pattern of “I’m being harassed” (without explanation of what exactly that means) as a sort of blanket statement to discount any kind of questions or scrutiny. The idea of someone having to explain what harassment is
