I kinda love how these generally give off a early 2000s Flash site vibe (in a good way, Flash, dear flash, how I miss the aesthetic, creative freedom, lightheartedness that you brought to the interwebbes)

"You only see top" - This goes for everything in the world. I take it you kind of mean that unless you're in the visible top, there's no reason to do it? That's a bleak way of looking at life.. Remember everything i

Nice read. Even if it may not be the entire truth (I'm not making claims either way). It reminds me of an album that put me much into the same headspace as this article, River of Nile - The Work https://www.youtube.com/

A better title is "C isn't just a progamming language anymore" I know the purpose of the article is to shit on C, but the fact that it is the lingua franca _despite_ of it's shortcomings, is more than anything a testamen

One certainly can, and should. However, if I have to chose, I'd rather there be room for people over-reacting than risk there not being room for polite suggestion.. I do believe that the occasionally harsh tone fosters a resilience and

I just read the source and I don't think there's anything notworthy about it, it's not bad. It's just javascript as written in 2013.. I don't think the snark was justified in this case.. Someone writing a quick litt

I've played around with MT a lot, but I can't do music in any program.. But there is this one that shipped with it, Raina - Slumberjack, which is just amazingly beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnrHH_Sy1_

Except for the bare pcb thing, it looks cool.. I cringe thinking about long-term exposure to bare PCBs, sure RoHS is a thing, but it's R(eduction), not E(liminiation).. And those guidelines are under the assumption that the electronics

I avoid companies that won't publish their prices because it signals two things: 1. If you're not going to spend time jumping OUR hoopes to talk with us, you're not that important, we don't care about you, little fish. 2

Indeed, I'm not disputing that. However, you still need to mind the context. For instance, there existed computers in 1952.. Saying that "we had computers in 1952" is still right, very few institutions had access to one. Most

I'm certainly not saying that nothing happened before PCs, only that when talking about the past, one cannot say "we had X" based simply on whether X existed somewhere in the world, but one must consider also how widespread t

That's like saying that "we" had computers in 1951.. The future is already here – it's just not evenly distributed. Something existing is different from something being in widespread use. When I was a kid in the 90s, I h
