Relative times are nice for recent times (e.g. "5 minutes ago" is better than "2025-12-18 13:03"), but they should "decay" into absolute times for anything that isn't fairly recent - like a week or two, pe

I don't like just saying "read the article", but this is precisely what the article explains. In short: the rental rates are a condition of the property owner's loan.

I think you're missing the point here. None of these things were available to users writing HTML for web browsers in the 1990s.

Not one of the downvotes, but: as far as I'm aware, there was never any syntax which could be used for HTML transclusion in the browser. There may have been SGML or XML syntaxes proposed for it, but none of them were actually implement

I don't think you mean "monospaced". Monospaced fonts (where every character cell has the same width, like an old typewriter) are almost never used for normal text in Latin scripts.

Noto is also a scalable font with multiple weights and styles (e.g. bold, italic, etc). Unifont is a 16-pixel bitmap with no styles, so it's only really usable at one size (or maybe two if you want 32px text).

Mickey Mouse's character design as of 1930 is in the public domain. But if you ask an AI image model for "Mickey Mouse", you'll probably get something based on more recent versions of the character which are still copy

Which would have made sense if company names were unique - which they aren't. See e.g. https://groups.google.com/g/mozilla.dev.security.policy/c/Nj... for an example of how this was abused.

Yes. Especially on articles - the baseline assumption is that most articles are written by humans, and it's nice to know when that expectation may have been violated.

Small piezo beepers typically don't draw much current. The article doesn't say what part they're using, but a datasheet for a typical piezo beeper [1] says it draws 12 mA at 12V - and much less at 3.3V, which is what this dev
