It's not specifically aware of the syntax - it'll match any repeated substrings. That just happens to usually end up meaning words and phrases in English text.

It's still pretty common in the demoscene. What's less common, but still seen occasionally, is their opposite: "fuckings".

There's an easier and more effective way of doing that - instead of trying to give the model an extrinsic prompt which makes it respond with your text, you use the text as input and, for each token, encode the rank of the actual token

Concur. Zstandard is a good compressor, but it's not magical; comparing the compressed size of Zstd(A+B) to the common size of Zstd(A) + Zstd(B) is effectively just a complicated way of measuring how many words and phrases the two docu

You are confusing "X develops <something>" and "X produces hardware which other companies use for <something>". They are not the same.

I seriously doubt it. Apple's ARM implementation is in a really good place right now. It would take something extremely compelling to get them to consider any other architecture for an application processor, especially considering that

Not precisely an answer, but there's some related discussion here: https://cabforum.org/2025/06/11/minutes-of-the-f2f-65-meetin... The real takeaway is that there's never been a lot of real thought

TBH, some of the text accompanying the photos has the stench of AI-generated text all over it - for instance, the phrase "wasn't just" shows up three times, each time as the exact same sort of negative parallelism. I can unde

The situation has gotten more complex since that discussion, too. Modern versions of macOS use an immutable root partition [1]; shipping GPLv3 code in that partition could arguably be a violation of the license. [1]: https://supp

Stand up and try to hold your arms out in front of you, with the palms facing straight down. You'll find that this is a little awkward. The natural resting position of your hands is with the palms facing inwards, not down.

FLASH_DEVINFO (in OTP) has fields to set how large M1 is and what nCS pin to use for it. It's off by default. Yes, you still have to write to OTP - but a few bits of configuration is a lot easier than an entire init routine.

That may have been the theory, but it seems more likely that, inasmuch as it appeared to improve outcomes in some trials, it did so by treating parasitic infections which were concurrently present. (Which makes sense! That's its primar

Is there no way to do that without code in OTP? The bootrom is supposed to scan for an IMAGE_DEF on both memory banks, and can use nCS1 as specified in FLASH_DEVINFO. Unless there's something I'm missing, that should be sufficient

Awesome - I might just have to try it. How are you handling startup? The approach I had in mind was putting boot flash on the second channel with a separate CS pin from PSRAM and configuring that in OTP; any idea if that would work?

Have you tested out the 2x PSRAM configuration; if so, have you written anything up about it? :) I've thought about a configuration like that myself but haven't committed to any hardware yet.

If you're using base 10, you can get "8K" and "32K" by dividing by 10 and rounding down. The 1024/1000 distinction only becomes significant at 65536.
