While I enjoyed this article, it feels like the author has setup a strawman specifically so he could tear it down. I've never heard anyone say they wish they could have Darth Vader as a PM. Also, at what point is project considered a &

Ah Knoppix. I remember how blown away I was when I first ran the Live CD; at that time I had no idea it was even possible. It's a shame that it faded from popularity once Ubuntu came along.

Look promising. As others have said, it's too slow to be of any use. Also, I agree that the animations on the front page are terrible and need to go.

The "Show" button in "Answers and Discussions" should really switch to a "Hide" button when the text is revealed. The current toggled state, which is the down-state of the "Show" button, is too subtle

I came here to make this very same comment; glad to see it had already been posted. The pirate industry was light years ahead of anything the corporates were doing. All Apple did was convince the music labels to allow them to distribute the

Do you mind if I ask how you are able to use Twitter to keep on top of stuff? I only really have HN and Reddit to keep up with work related news. I've never been able to figure out how to use Twitter for anything useful. It's tota

Wow, it sounds like you're interviewing for a best friend there not a work colleague. I seriously doubt you've ever recruited more than a handful of people using this criteria.

I get the author's point, but he has decided that frosted effects have gone out of fashion and uses this as a litmus test for whether or not a platform is in decline. The crux of this argument is that "pointless" features are

I'll echo what the others have said in that it's a little confusing. It's more of a dashboard creation kit than a tool for end-users. For example, do I really need to be able to change the span of the dash widgets as an end-u

Whenever I see a headline with a leading question in its title my automatic response is "no". It's lazy writing and tries to colour my opinion before even presenting the facts.

Sure thing: https://github.com/dotcloud/docker/issues/813 What I mean is, that in order to pull from the repository (eg, docker pull base) I need to connect using a proxy server.

I find SourceTree to be very slow and heavy. If I need to use a GUI then I find the built-in Gitk and GitGui more than adequate. They're not pretty, of course, but they do the job just fine.
