svn was designed to be "CVS done right," which informed a lot of the design and workflow to the point that some CVS misfeatures only got carried through by virtue of that mandate. (Source of this assertion is prolonged discussions

Would you be willing to chat about it via email? I'd love to know more, as I'm starting to look at implementing something like this and it'd be nice to reuse any work that someone has done in thinking through mistakes before

No, they're exactly as supported . What I meant by that was that we promise to not break them, ever, to keep the output formats stable, and accept bug reports for them. That doesn't necessarily mean it's something we'll

Note that extensions that ship with Mercurial are exactly as supported as the tool itself, and come with the same kinds of backwards compatibility guarantees. It's not worth worrying about rebase, histedit, and record being extension

Note that Facebook is trying to scale a single large repository, not an army of slightly smaller ones. It's a very different problem, and has to be solved in a very different way.

For Adium we got an email confirmation ~3 weeks before things went away. I'm not sure how (if at all) we configured that. Seems like a short notification window, but at least we got an email. Did the owner(s) of the Python account not

I'm afraid I know absolutely nothing about Windows. I know ssh is kind of a basketcase there, and I think tortoise is your best bet. Are you trying to use Windows as a server or as a client?

You probably need to disable a merge tool. Check 'hg showconfig merge-tools' and you'll probably find something. If this is on a debian derived system, I think that package maintainer turns on a bunch of stuff by default, s

The instructions you linked for git would basically work as stated for Mercurial, but without all the mucking about with making a bare repository. Note that on the Mercurial wiki page you linked, it does mention ssh setup, although perhaps

No app store in Leopard? If the MAS is the only distribution vector, there's a bootstrapping problem from 10.5 IIRC.

When that works, anyway. For me the success rate on actually walking into a car at SFO (with Hertz Gold) is below 50%. No idea why, but my coworkers have had similar experiences at SFO.

I play probably 4 or 5 ladder games a week - I slowly have improved (although moving last month made my ability drop noticeably), and I'm investing about as much time per week as watching a movie each week. Then again, I'm in Gold

This statement out of michaelochurch is just silly. Most managers I know consider 20% time to be important to those engineers that desire taking it. That said, not everyone tries, and you can lose your ability to do 20% if you underperform.
