As much as I appreciate Dieter Rams approach to design, I must say that favors one particular kind of design. For a much more encompassing discussion on design (which could include software architecture) this 1972 interview with Charles Eam

I see tons of BlackBerries in Mexico, when three years ago there were none. They have become an affordable phone here that works just fine for Facebook, email and chatting. In a certain sense they are the old reliable Nokias of yesteryear.

Cancun is a "designed" city and the core districts are laid out inspired in Mayan hieroglyphs. This makes terrible urbanism but some pretty sweet woodcut maps. http://woodcutmaps.com/11254

I've been a designer for the better part of my professional career (12+years). For the past three years or so I've been getting more and more involved in programming, to the point that it's the majority of what I do day to day. What I've ta

I think one of the most revealing moments in my design education was when a teacher asked us to design a packaging that looked cheap . We all felt relief because we thought it meant we didn't have to be as careful with the quality of our d

I'm using the absolute value. The game has "tolerance" depending on the amount of letters you have to kern. So, if you have to kern 1 letter, you get 1px tolerance. 5 letters has 5px tolerance, and so on.
