They really need to add time-limited trials to their app stores. It's one of the great aspects of commercial mac apps, and one of the reasons I won't pay much for an iOS app (I can't judge their real value before buying). e.g. I bought and

FWIW, I use a simple format inspired by stuff like markdown. A Mail-like header for metadata, followed by optional headnotes, ingredients prefixed with "- ", and finally instructions. Example (hope this comes through ok): Title: Recipe

Nice job - the screen shots look good, I'm tempted to ditch my home-grown app, but I'm not sure how easy it'd be to get my recipe database into the app. One critical feature I'd like to see is a bulk way to get stuff in and out of the app.

I found that switching pages in GoodReader was pretty painful, but this seems to have been fixed in the most recent release. (The main UI is a little weird, too, but it gets the job done.) iBooks PDF is decent, especially for a 1.0 product.

Aside from no sound, it works on the iPad. They seem to be handling touch events (swipes) for movement.

In Safari, Cmd-1, Cmd-2, etc. activate the first, second, etc. bookmarks in your toolbar. Great for things like readability. (e.g. Cmd-1 to make the current page readable.)

Contrary to the article, the pdf doesn't appear to be locked in any way. If you run the pdf through "pdftotext -layout", you get a very readable text file which is probably easier to parse than any XML they'd come up with. (Probably easier

Using the close-tags proposed by the MSDN article would yield an invalid HTML document. Per the DTD and the SGML standard, the closing tag of IMG, an element with EMPTY content, MUST be omitted. The element is already closed before the pars

I'm not a lisp expert, but my understanding is that CLOS uses packages for this. In CLOS, methods (generic functions) live outside classes. So, like normal functions, their names are qualified by the packages that they are defined in. If yo
