Yeah, I found the title misleading, too. What is news to me is the explicit mention of WebViews. I remember this exception previously being for JavaScript in general, which I assume would include JavaScriptCore. Does anyone know if they ch

Unfortunately, due to sandboxing rules added around beta4, WKWebView doesn't allow access to any local files, making it nearly worthless for hybrid apps, ebook viewers, etc. The only workaround that I know of is to run a webserver on a

It was over a year ago, so my memory is a little fuzzy. I do remember that near the end of the process I looked at the source code to answer a question or two. I'll skim over the docs again and see if I can remember what I was confuse

As a pedagogical exercise, to help me understand the design, I wrote some Go code to read a sqlite database and dump table contents. I remember having to peek at the source code to figure out a few things that weren't explained well i

And this means the passcode has to be broken on the device. The key is generated from the passcode and the other keys you mention via PBKDF2, which slows down the cracking process. You also have to have a non-destructive jailbreak or Appl

Borderlands Books, a Sci-Fi/Fantasy bookstore in San Francisco, used to have a Sphynx named Ripley. They'd have a sign in the window to let you know if the cat was in. She passed away in 2010. They had subsequent cats, but stoppe

One novel thing about Tolkien's languages: he constructed a root language (like proto-indo-european) and etymologies for them. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Etymologies_(Tolkien) )

If you want an intermediate level of security, you can use a longer, numerical passcode, and the device will give you a number pad instead of a keyboard to type it in. Also brute-forcing must be done on the device because the UID key is inv

Yes, the device needs to be unlocked to pair it, otherwise it doesn't access to the keys needed to create the pairing record. The pairing record (stored on your desktop) helps avoid needing to unlock the device for subsequent access.

Apple's jpeg animation hack used 4:4:4 so the blocks wouldn't interfere with each other. It's a neat hack, worth reading about if you haven't seen it yet: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1GWT
