There have been some reports that this is related to the graphics drivers. I don't know an easy way to disable the nvidia card, but perhaps disabling graphics switching in settings (so it always uses the fancy card) might help? The onl

Was the image upside down? Sometimes stuff coming out of iOS is stored in a different orientation than it appears on the screen. (There is some metadata in jpeg that says to rotate it before displaying - browsers typically ignore this for

I'd rather AOL not keep permanent logs of everything. They would now be for sale to the highest bidder. As for my own data, Adium kept logs that I zipped up before I stopped using it. (And I have logs from "gaim" that preda

I think the author means "late binding" - the method lookup is done at invocation time rather than compile time. (There is caching, etc, to make it fast.)

That's disappointing, where did you read this? The images on apple.com show socketed RAM, which suggests to me that it might be possible to open the unit: https://www.apple.com/v/imac-pro/a/images&#

It looks like they have a Jr game - maybe that doesn't ramp up as fast? My 5 yr old tried human resource machine the other day, got a couple of levels, but that ramped up way too fast for him. I'm afraid that this might ramp up a

I recall my thumbprint being collected in CA (in the peninsula). It's been a few years. I remember it because I found it somewhat disturbing that they collected thumbprints. The CA DMV web site confirms this practice: "Fingerpri

I had a lyft driver tell me that there was a MPG requirement to pick up passengers at SEA-TAC, which is confirmed by the Lyft web site: "the Port of Seattle will only allow Lyft vehicles with a blended MPG rating of 40 or higher to pic

Back in college (late 90's) I did collaborative class project (in Z notation) with XEmacs and a partner on a remote X server. It actually worked as long as one of us wasn't in the minibuffer.

Thanks, I ended up going with the 10.5" one. It's the size of the steno pads I scribble on and weighs less than the bigger on. Not a lot of space on my desk either. I'm gonna give Notes a try for a while and also Notability,

I ran into a similar issue years ago. Our tests, written on macos, were failing on linux, because pdftotext was producing different output. I traced down the logic, added some debugging print statements, and it magically fixed itself. Event

The "Dragon Box" game on iOS is a fascinating way of presenting "algebra" (isolating a variable in a linear equation). It starts with a very abstract presentation of the rules (using cards with monsters on them - gradual
