That project sent me down a rabbit hole learning about CRDTs. I'd love to learn more about the history of the Notes implementation. Who did it? What background did they have? Their "topotext" construct is similar to RGA, but

If the author is here, thanks for writing this up. I did something similar years ago, but I neglected to write it up. My process was essentially the same as yours, although I used some thrown-together python code to analyze the protobuf dat

I didn’t know there was a web mode. I’ve been using my iPad for zoom, because it’s the only way I could think of to sandbox it.

The 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 number disregards the orientation of center tiles. You'd have to multiply it by 4^4 or something to do the faces. (I can't remember if there is one face or two that are determined by the others, but

I do the edges first and then the corners. I changed it up for novelty and to force myself to come up with a different solution. So I've got permutations to manipulate edges that also mess with the corners, followed by ones that manip

Yeah, I've had good luck with pdftotext -layout in the past. And in one case I've used pdftohtml -xml (plus some post-processing), which is useful if the layout is complex or you want to capture stuff like bold/italic.

Also sqlite3's encryption seems to be a byte swapped AES. E.g. look for a byte swapped AES key schedule in dropbox process memory and you should find its sqlite3 encryption key.

There is another small lisp that targets both Lua and Javascript called "lumen"[1]. Small enough that you can easily tinker with it. I added clojure style {} literals to the reader and paired it with hyperapp to write a toy web a

Yeah, being able to get my data back out is a hard requirement for me too. It's one of the things that put me off of OneNote. A few years ago I wrote a few python scripts to export the Notes.app database to html and bear formats. I ha

Additionally, JIT would need a special entitlement to be able to change a page of memory from writable to executable. This is a little dangerous from a security perspective, and even Apple only grants it to apps the specifically need it.
