Beyond good and evil, the problem is actually the noise. The simple Follow/Unfollow button is not enough since Twitter got mainstream. You have to do a lot of manual maintenance to keep your stream relevant and interesting.

It doesn't have to be this way. If the platform is designed to cluster the users based on their interests automatically, you'd have early adopters and normal people co-existing without bothering each other. That's what I'

Prioritizing has to be done automatically, there's no way you could do that manually. And yes indeed, this is what has to be done. A system that "hand picks" exactly the items (not the whole feed) you'd be interested in,

This is exactly what I'm working on! Twitter demands a lot of hard manual work in order to stay interesting. It doesn't have an efficient filtering mechanism. Follow/Unfollow button will not do. I tried showing this problem f

They tried to make it "fun" with the drag'n'drop UI. Personally I think circles is the biggest part of the +. I can finally interact properly with my Family, Buddies, Coworkers and so on.
