I remember hearing years ago IE usage was crazy high in South Korea because they had laws in place requiring all online banking customers to install an ActiveX control. If that's true... Then they've come pretty far.

I've heard about these issues in wrestling before, but is it just pro wrestlers? Is the rate of drug abuse higher in wrestlers than, say, other similar professions (boxing, MMA). Is wrestling doing this to its performers, or does wrest

I think people are missing the point - his point is simplicity. This is actually why I've stopped buying albums and switched entirely to streaming internet radio like di.fm. I spent way too much time and effort managing my mp3 library

Yes, just without the guilt (since this means DDG is clearly okay with not making ad revenue off me)

If you're not a fan of blocking ads, DuckDuckGo let's you disable ads in their search results.

Stuff like this is why I don't feel bad about blocking ads. This garbage adds no value and just exists to get clicks from tech illiterate people.

I feel companies brought this on themselves. Sure, having an app might have helped early on to differentiate yourself from your competition, but now you have to have an app if you want to seem legit. Which means you have to get in bed with

I mostly stick to open source or well known commercial software, run Windows Defender, and I run uBlock Origin. I'm of the opinion the biggest risk of malware comes from rogue ads. I've only been hit with malware twice in the 25 y

I stopped reading when the author started talking about Trump. I swear, for people who hate Trump, they sure dedicate a lot of brain cycles to constantly thinking about him...

And this is the problem I have with tying anything to a remote server. Every digital movie, song, book, or video game that requires a remote server for patches, activation, or anything else will eventually end up like this. What happens in

Kind of like how soda companies encourage people to exercise. They don't want you to stop buying their product, but cut back just enough to stop people complaining.

If it was seriously this easy to pull off, perhaps the real guilty parties here are the USPS workers who let this happen unchecked.

If an employer feels the need to do this, it's a major red flag that there are serious issues in their culture and management. Monitoring your employees will just make things worse.

Agreed. In my area, 2 day shipping usually uses either UPS or USPS. Same day shipping uses their drivers. I've given up expecting it same day.

I've actually become a bit put off on a lot of "modern" technologies lately. Every website tries to keep you on as long as possible with click bait, every advertiser tries to track your habits, video games just try to upsell

I've found the flipside of the subscription model; I'm actually able to use commercial software for free. Most subscription software has a free tier, and most of the time it's good enough for my needs. In the few cases where
