It's not perfect, but it's tolerable, and not unlike some real-world calls where there's a slight delay. There are some "Hmm ..." and "well ..." scripted in as well to make it feels natural if there is a l

The cold call sales part can be replaced to suit any need. I had another version that was just a generic AI (no sales stuff). I found myself on walks frequently ringing up the chatbot ("Hey siri, call ChatGPT") and just asking it

The AI answers the call and acts as a potential customer. They take on personas to simulate behaviors like difficult or reluctant customers. You then do your pitch, handle objections, etc. At the end you get a transcript that's 'g

I don't like selling. I wanted a way to practice cold calling in a realistic way. I set up a phone number you can call and talk to an AI that simulates sales calls. I ended up using it for more general purpose things because being able

Small anecdote: speed reading is mostly bullshit but when I took a course it showed me how to approach books and new content in a different and more useful way. I usually just started from the beginning and started reading. Now I look at th

Geohot had this weird mystique that was pretty appealing when it looked like he was building really interesting things better than (or as good as) large corporations. He should have stayed put because now he looks very average. Makes me fee

Seems like biomimicry had lots of interesting solutions like this. I can imagine some future drone designs looking more like a falcon than a geometric 4-rotor quadcopter, especially when trying to solve problems around efficiency and flying

The Invention of Nature by Andrea Wulf is a fantastic, highly recommended read. It covers Humboldt’s life as an adventuring proto-scientist as well as the impact he’s had on the world’s great scientific and artistic minds (Darwin, Goethe, m

I’m a product manager partly because I’m not a great coder. Other engineers are faster and better, so I wanted to add value by helping figure out what they should actually be building based on user needs. It has its up and downs but you can

One of my favorite books of all time. I saw Wulf speak at Vanderbilt last year and the stories she shares about Humboldt are really remarkable ... One of the world's greatest scientists, adventurers and thinkers. Now his name is hardly
