Have you considered they aren't out to ruin your life? Seems narcissistic to assume it's about you. Sometimes (most of the time?) you can be generically terrible instead of personally terrible.

It's a competitive game, though. By "unlimiting" yourself you're changing the rules for competitive play for everyone . It's a very selfish way to play the game. It's a relief you've stopped.

Well if everyone is playing a different game, it's no wonder nobody is having any fun. There is certainly no way for me to interact with you in a fair way if you're cheating past the limitations I'm enjoying.

For those of us who didn't use maps--most everyone I know--it was this advantage others had that made it terribly non-fun to play. Why bother playing when everyone is cheating?

Interesting things aren't necessarily good. JavaScript is very difficult to read and maintain, there are dozens of dialects and versions, npm is a complete mess, it's hopelessly single threaded, and we've arguably hit a perfo

If we're talking about cost here, "character" is a luxury. I personally would welcome lower rent (or lower building costs) in exchange for something generic.

Boilerplate is one thing—this is what transpilers are for, among other solutions—but can OpenCL match CUDA on a performance level?

It is a failure in terms of developing their own business. The 20% stake won't ever translate into a better valuation of the product, just the corporation. As you've recently seen with Yahoo!, this won't save them.

This is also on upstream projects not to lock themselves into CUDA. Yes, it's great, but everyone suffers when there's only one supported API. Even more so when it's closed and locked to a specific vendor, as CUDA is.
