Signed up! Eager to take this for a test drive. I've been waiting impatiently for Google Voice to roll out in Canada..

I would actually say that Microsoft's tunnel-vision on everything being a Windows powered "pc" is why they have always failed in the tablet market over the years.

Since the remove is RF vs. IR you can actually put the thing just about anywhere. Mine sits behind my TV.

I ran it on an HTPC for about a month before I bought the Boxee Box.

I bought a Boxee over the Christmas holidays and have loved every minute of it. Over the years I've built tons of HTPC's (dating back to 1999) and have had to put up with all of the strengths and weaknesses related to the variety of solutio

I'm just happy they properly called it a "Safe deposit box." It annoys the crap out of me when people call it a "Safety deposit box"

Easy solution : Allow the pirates to run wild on IPv6. Everyone else will follow.

I also thought perhaps April had come early. I thought a Kindle Single was just a tongue-in-cheek name for a book.

But with computers you have a keyboard, monitor.. eventually mouse. These things were pretty universal and even carried over from machine to machine. Even then the marketing was more about the OEM branding than Microsoft for a long time.

I have to imagine that it's less than 10% of Android owners that root their phones. Certainly there is power in niche markets in this modern world where the barriers for distribution have been mostly obliterated by the internet.. That wonde

It depends on where you live. Some people can pay a few bucks a month for netflix and put an AppleTV in every room giving them access to a tremendous amount of content without having to deal with physical media. You mostly only pay for wha

Yep, to play a dvd I have to get out of my chair and physically move things around. To play things I have stored digitally it's just a matter of using the remote to access thousands of movies/tv shows stored on my network.

I would imagine it's just as cumbersome a process as playing a dvd, laserdisc, betamax, vhs is today. I agree that the state of marketplaces is not there yet but I also think that it won't stay this way for too much longer. I'm over physi

I would hardly call BluRay a well established standard. It's the lone HD physical media for consumers at this point but most people are still using DVD.

Personally I think Microsoft is trying to emulate the annoying Sony/Playstation 3 actor. The problem with this is that it is mostly annoying to everyone (including people who might have been on the fence regarding a playstation 3) It's hard

I think everyone pretty much saw that distribution was going to become digital. It was easier to steal music than buy it legally. That itch (instant gratification) would be scratched sooner or later.
