It might be late for the larger companies who do hiring through school via career fairs and such. However, I have a few friends who are still talking with some small to mid size startups about internships. It seems to me that the smaller co

This is a welcome improvement! Much more detailed than the spreadsheet I've been keeping of downloads over time. I did notice that the data they're providing is only going back until December. Are other people noticing this too?

Yes of course not cloud in particular, but web services in general. It just gave me pause because if Google messed this up, how many other services with less man power that we trust with our data have similar vulnerabilities?

I met Jon a few weeks ago and we talked about the possibility of this exploit. At the time I didn't believe that the folks at Google would miss something like this. It just goes to show you can't be too careful when interacting with today's

I realize how easy it is, I just wanted to point out that they still won't have market access. I'm of the opinion that Nokia should just move to Android - they make nice hardware but they need better software and should stop spinning their

This doesn't mean that Google will give MeeGo access to the Android market, meaning that it will increase the work for developers to support the multiple platforms.

I find it interesting that Rovio is choosing to build its own payment system rather than use the options that Google is integrating into the Android platform. I don't have a problem with granting these permissions to an app that I use that

Depending on what you want to do there are some options. The one that's been around longest but the most limited is the ASE (Android Scripting Environment) http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2009/06/introducing-an... Using the ASE you

If not for principles, then perhaps for their public image? That would be my guess. Whatever the reason, I do hope that more companies consider following Twitter and defending their users in the future.

Fair enough, they do seem to hide any free offerings. They seem to fit well into the "building a fantastic product, charging for it, and offering great support" group.

An alternative would be a traditional flatbed scanner. While not ideal for catching up on a backlog of unscanned documents, it isn't bad for scanning current documents. They can be bought for anywhere between $30-70. As another thing to con

I feel that the author has a point, but only to a certain extent. There are also plenty of companies that focus on a great user experience and top not support. To provide some counter examples to the companies listed in the article, compani

I got started when I was 11 or 12 with something called Blitz Basic. It was a language developed for the purpose of quick, easy game development. Game development was what got me hooked, with my first real program being a 'guess the number'

I'd definitely be interested, something along the lines of a 20-30 minute show that answers two or three questions in a good amount of detail would be very useful to me.

I would assume that this is the reason. This is one of the major limitations of the HTML5 + Javascript stack, and one that will have to be solved before we see even more widespread use on services like Hulu or Netflix.

You may also want to look at CI's 2.0 development branch. They've rebuilt much of the base code on top of PHP 5 natively now instead of being built on PHP 4 with hacks to make it also work with 5. Although it is still in development, it has
