I was half expecting to see a reference to Chris Morris's recent film Four Lions. That film has been dubbed "controversial" here in the UK precisely because its protagonists are portrayed as nitwits, albeit nitwits with bombs.

Will Unity be allowed to include mono's .NET runtime as their scripting host then? There's little practical difference between that and a game scripted with Lua.

I don't quite understand that page. What does 8GHz mean? Would these nodes be suitable for compute-intensive work (eg ray-tracing)?

Ken makes good points, but don't think for a moment that DSLR video isn't going places. Sam Nicholson, for instance, has Canon's R&D people at his disposal. They furnish him with nice shiny things like HDMI monitor output and manual foc

Very cool video that seems to have inspired a lot of people. Farsthary's now working hard on "unlimited clay" for Blender's sculpt tools: http://farsthary.wordpress.com/2010/05/22/unlimited-clay-scu... http://farsthary.wordpress.com/2010

Congratulations on great work! Alas Chrome had been unusable for me on Linux for the last couple of months... but this post just spurred me to find out why. Turned out my bookmark file was large - 6,000 items - with one particular bookmark

Red's R3D codec was a modified JPEG2000. Perfect for its primary application, but intraframe only and a patent minefield. http://peter.schlaile.de/redcode/ Great company and kit though.

Removing operator overloading makes vector and matrix math deeply unpleasant - something that this kind of "creative coding" tends to use rather heavily.

That's rather damning. As a casual but curious user, I "got" ØMQ and was up and running from a one page tutorial. AMQP left me scratching my head for longer. It didn't seem quite as orthogonally structured. It just wasn't UNIX.

So I guess Anonymous is more like a "brand name" for unconnected groups that perform terrorist actions and have a loosely shared ideology, rather than the title of any distinct, traditional faction having a centralised control and command.

Interesting that there has been no response from Beijing yet. We're all waiting for them to add the now-unfiltered google.cn to the firewall, but doing so would be in some way accepting Google's argument - making them look weak. I guess the
