Rob started doing the very thing I’m dreaming of while I wait for the build to finish and the tests to complete running. I’ll take this as inspiration and validation that it really is possible.

I like it when they put breaking news/ongoing dangers such as a shooting or a volcano eruption, behind a paywall. I’m earning a decent wage, but I can’t justify paying a dozen subscriptions to stay in the loop. So I disconnect and live

Why couldn’t they license the content you generate using their service such that if your revenue for that specific song goes above $x, they reserve the right to a y% cut?

Netflix should make a documentary about this.

I’d argue against having no control of how others react/percieve you. Perform well - others will most likely think highly of you. Perform poorly - you’re getting fired. Stoicism should be taken with a grain of salt.

Only this would make me consider going back to the office: a 5 hour workday, paid as 8. The 3 remaining hours would be compensating for the commute, which includes the time to get dressed. Commuting costs and food should be compensated as w

I'm not the author of that GH issue, but I do wonder if we can do better. Do you all look away when you see a bunch of warnings about minor vulnerabilities in your codebase?

Am I supposed to ignore these vulnerabilities?

This crazy thought keeps haunting me: > The simplest generator consists of just a coil of wire and a bar magnet. When you push the magnet through the middle of the coil, an electric current is produced in the wire. Here is the crazy thou

I wasn't planning on it, but since HN has it, I don't see why not. I'd have the modify the ranking algo but it is doable, of course.
