China could try to address its fertility collapse by soliciting sperm and egg donations from compatible patents and then ‘make’ babies by hiring a great number of surrogate mothers either in China or abroad in Africa. This may not be solely

Not eating in the evening and night has been good for me, specifically for better sleep which leads to less sugar cravings. Less eating time also reduces my overall calorie intake.

It is not stated whether these are killed, killed in action, or ‘casualties’ - which include all wounded.

If ChatGPT really has some GAI, is it ethical to ‘wipe’ it, to erase its memories and emergent behavior?

It is not possible to definitively prove that aliens are not and never have been on Earth (although I personally have the impression that the chances are vanishingly small). Therefore, the debate can continue indefinitely. UFOs are the ulti

Who are the ‘we’ who did all the wonderful things in the first paragraphs and who are ‘they’ ‘people’ who were ‘ridiculous’ in the last paragraph? There is far too much splitting going on.

I want to know if this is really a thing. There is suspiciously little publicly Googleable reaserch. Does blood from a young person rejuvenate someone else and is there any bad side effect on the younger person?

While we may sneer at the idea of pampered tycoons pouring imemse sums into hourly fecal testing or whatever, these are actually what drive things forwards for the rest of us. After all, who would study life extension otherwise? It wouldn&#

Yes, at home one only runs AC in the relevant rooms. At the office there is no personal incentive to turn off the AC, in fact its not possible to turn it off unless you are the caretaker. I've even seen people open the windows or doors

Where i live (hot, non US) most detached homes have AC per room. So one can cool only the relevant parts. Say the home office during day and bedroom at night. This while office AC runs 24 hrs 7 days a week. They never shut it off.

I bought Bose ANC earplugs a few years ago, having the fantasy of blessed silence amid all the chatter, blaring radio, etc. It was very disappointing. Low level hums are indeed filtered, but the office voices sound even more distinct. Im ho

Ancient Rome had this problem, which it 'solved' by selectively permitting various tribes to pass the limes (border) on exchange for military service. If the US is indeed an empire, it may choose this option. Unfortunately, it did
