Those salaries seem inflated, like most of the ads for developers. The data source is CyberCoders. A ouiji board is more accurate.

That CIO is selling smoke and mirrors. | "We invest in training people and bringing them up to speed to where they need to be, and boom they're gone" Straight from the article - they invest NOTHING in retention. It's a separate process alt

I know developers with government clearances that would be happy to make half that. Where are there mythical high paying jobs? FantasyLand?

The author is delusional, at best. | There’s never been a better time to be a developer. Let’s take the internet wayback machine before the dotbomb days. Companies provided the hardware and software to work on. Required travel was reimburs

A resume farm is an entity that collects (farm) resumes. The job postings are most likely taken from other sites. Salaries are inflated to make you want to submit your resume.

UW alum here. Back in the day 1987-1991 (started when I was 16) it was still challenging to get in - but not this retentive.

In the DC area too. The positions that need 5+ years experience and need TS/SCI/FSP still pay $60K/yr.

If there were developer jobs paying that much, there'd be a line of people at the front door every day wanting to get hired. Quality people are easy to find, a quality company is not.

Now that Joel has covered how credible and ethical recruiters, and the companies they support, should behave - when can we expect to see them?

Unfortunately it's an HR system, managed by HR, for HR. If the marketplace really wants to know what is in demand, contact the people actually doing the work.

Judging from this post I'm expecting a similar one titled "My co-founders/managers are dicks..." that links to this thread.

H1B salaries are generally higher. Perhaps they are confusing billing rate with salary rate.

The data seems a bit off. According to the links the H1B salaries are actually higher than what US born/citizens get for the same job.
