Definitely true. I think they certainly exist in the startup economy just because that's the way things seem to work. It's the 80/20 rule. The vast majority of people are connected to a smaller subset that make it their business to know eve

Thanks man. Just trying to share my experience :). It's funny how much different marketing is now from back when people had to work the phones. I don't think I've ever gotten any type of coverage or connection from a phone call. Now it's al

Even though that may seem obvious I think a lot of people don't do it correctly. I hear a lot of people who say "Oh I submitted it to TechCrunch and didn't hear anything so I don't think it's going to get covered." That's the exact wrong me

For the record the penis jokes in the Google Doc are not from me :) I think that there were a few subtle funny lines in there - but I can see where you're coming from. Incidentally even inserting one joke into the NDA completely invalidates

Oh I just thought that would be a fun addendum to the point of absurdNDA which is to to send a meaningless and funny contract back to someone who sends you an NDA. Most of it is standard boilerplate legal copy, but a few minor things are ch

Thanks :) that's the idea. I'm still at the point where I'm trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. That's why I've concentrated my efforts on doing a lot of small projects. I feel like if I keep doing a lot of different projects

Hey angryasian thanks for the feedback. Just to be clear, I didn't ask for this post to be written, or submitted to HN. But I'm really sorry you feel that way. It's honestly not my intention to spam the community. Every article that I've po

Haha although I never explicitly planned for that to happen (definitely not smart enough for that) it seems to have worked out nicely. There will be more soon. Stay tuned :)

I think that this is a great point. You want your project to feel like its been around forever and will continue to be around for a long time. That inspires confidence in your users to buy from you and/or recommend you to their friends. Wit

My first thought is that this is definitely not for a developer. I can get a site similar to this running in Rails in just a few hours for 100% free besides time spent. What it's really for is people who are looking to build websites but ar

Well the point is that now I'm set up to continue making money with minimal effort for a long period of time. So in the short run yes I was making very little money per hour, but eventually the work put in vs money taken out becomes much gr
