Hi! I think you missed the security implications of the current getUserMedia model for screen access. While you wish to have the easiest user experience (no extension, one click screen share/capture), this is a dangerous problem. Let m

The getUserMedia API is still fairly early. If the OP used the chooseDesktopMedia API in concert with getUserMedia and built a Chrome Extension, you wouldn't have to do any of these work-arounds. I expect an enormous number of Chrome E

In M34, a user can still use getUserMedia with a screen media source as long as they enable the flag. In M35+, the flag will no longer appear. Thus, the only way to get a screen media source (tab, screen, window etc.) in the first place is

Another benefit of using cDM: more visitors to your site would be able to use your app right now instead of posting "Chrome vers. doesn't work" :-) 20% of the world (and likely an even larger percentage of HN users) already h

Please do not do this. You should not instruct users to change flags in order to use this. This opens up fairly serious security loopholes as malicious websites can start screensharing without being instantiated by the user. Instead of usin

Genuinely curious: when & why would I want to use myproject.dev:port over localhost:port?

I disagree. It's incredibly difficult to hit the tiny buttons on mobile & I occasionally end up downvoting when I intended to upvote (or vice versa).

Interesting. I'd like to see further research done to test if large voltage spikes like this could explain animal behavioral patterns before earthquakes and tsunamis.

To be fair, Github wouldn't need to leak anything to get on the top of HN. Just about any thing they post on their blog gets on the front page for at least a few hours.

This is not a wise strategy. Technologies go through cycles - PHP was hot in 2006, Ruby peaked in 2010, Javascript (and Node.js) is currently hot, and it's quite possible that Go will be hot in 2-3 years. It's foolish to learn a l

This has enormous impact by bringing transparency to medical procedure pricing. One could quite literally save $10-50K by opting to do a procedure just a few miles away. Nice work. Where did you get the data for this? Is it publicly availab
