Normally, I hate reading about these. Web dev has become easy enough that anyone should be able to prototype their idea. Nevertheless, two words in article make this worth reading. "I hustle" That's something I really respect (assuming you

I've made an spreadsheet with the following - Name, Email, Company, Introduced By/At, Status In status, write down stuff like "Give Beta," or "Reconnect in one month."

I wish the article went into detail of following up with VCs. For example, how to followup after the first meeting? I've felt that a simple "Thank you, I look forward to talking more" isn't good enough. I think you need to go further and

For a veteran programmer learning a new language like Haskell, I agree completely. For a novice programmer learning their first language, they probably don't understand the quicksort algo and probably have no concept of arrays or any data s

Find a student with an educational discount or an online sale. Photoshop is NOT $1000. Get it for like $200-300.

I don't know Jason Calacanis, his personality or anything. His "I'm never tired, keep up with me" is.... odd to say the least. Nevertheless, I do agree with his "I want to surround myself with people who can work at my pace, work 80 hours a

Exactly. They compared an ultraportable to full-size laptops, without outlining why someone should get one over the other. They only stated the obvious "other computers give you more power."

Crowd-sourced transcription over OCR for something like business cards (where the accuracy of transcription is crucial for the card to be useful) is just BRILLIANT.

It is incredibly dangerous to write things like this. It encourages rebellious activity during one of the busiest traveling seasons. I understand these are potentially too invasive, but as long as the TSA agent is not being a pervert, I am

I wonder if Gogo inflight can also fall victim to Firesheep? If I recall, it uses no security other than a authentication webpage.

I only use 2-3 Spaces (to separate work from chats and distractions). I find it hard to split up "work" into multiple Spaces when I need to look at all of my work at once (ex. need reference docs + code up at the same time).

It's not just about resolution as some have pointed out. I like to have Terminal, emacs, XCode, Firefox, Preview for any PDFs all open at once. That's why I prefer 15/17" + external 22/24" - I would never be able to handle the small 13" jus

Coffee + 10 minute breaks every 20 minutes of code. Weekly/monthly hackathons help condition your body for this ;-) I obviously crash immediately after. I'm usually delirious and black-out (after TechCrunch Disrupt for example).
