I shared this with HN on many occasions. My wife has crowded teeth, doesn't floss, barely touches her waterpik, doesn't use any proper brushing technique. She probably had a couple of fillings done since I met her 20 years ago. In

Why not? Brushing and swishing removes most of the particles, and then you floss to reach the tight spaces.

Yes and then add few other pieces of state and interdependent components, the reactive code will extend, the manual patch job of connecting listeners and mutating DOM will start falling apart. The first example is okay for a one off but can

What I'm saying, say you have 3 dependent dropdown pickers, selecting an item in the first one determine which of the other 2 are shown. When you have reactive interfaces like that, it's hard to extract the common "business&q

Not sure how you avoid reinventing any of the component frameworks. Writing custom JS component backbone style seems tedious and error prone. Manually modifying the DOM on changes means writing the same logic several times, once for the ini

A 2TB SSD for the Framework 13 cost me 200 euros. But I agree that it's not cheap, files are getting bigger, games are big, apps are huge, and then you need backups and external storage and always some free space as temp storage so you
